The official launch of the Royal Canal Greenway will take place on the 24th of March 2021. The event will be a virtual one, due to Covid 19 restrictions.
Minister Eamon Ryan & Minister Malcolm Noonan will be in attendance for the official launch.
The Royal Canal Greenway is 130Km of level tow path. It is ideal for both cyclists and walkers of all levels of fitness and age.
The Royal Canal Greenway starts out in Maynooth, Co Kildare and transverses 4 counties in total all the way to Longford town and Cloondara in Co. Longford.
The Greenway visits counties Kildare, Meath, Westmeath and Longford. Each of the four counties have worked extremely hard to develop this activity in partnership with Waterways Ireland.

**** It is important that government guidelines are adhered to at all times and members of the public are requested not to travel more that 5km from their home if visiting a greenway ****
