Kilkenny County Council is  invitating  members of the public to participate in the selection of a preferred route corridor for the essential South to North Access Roa of the South East Greenway

In their ongoing effort to improve connectivity and accessibility, the council has developed six distinct route corridor options, all aimed at seamlessly connecting Abbey Road to Belmont Road. The recently launched Royal Canal Greenway is set to feature on Nationwide this week. RTÉ Nationwide, presenters Anne Cassin and Bláthnaid Ní Chofaigh are set travel the Greenway and it will be documented on the popular show this Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday.

The Royal Canal Greenway was launched in March of this year and has proved highly popular among both families, cyclists and walkers.

Beginning at opposite ends, Anne starts her journey in Dublin, heading west, and it’s all aboard in Cloondra for Bláthnaid, going east towards Mullingar where the two presenters meet.

Along the way the presenters will meet with locals who will share their own stories about the canal, its history and what it means to them.

The Greenway has become hugely popular since opening as a Greenway with new businesses opening up along the route and a surge in bike hire from operators along the route.

The show starts at 7pm each evening and can be viewed TV or via the RTE Player
