Make note of this Suir Blueway closure before travelling

Kilkenny County Council is  invitating  members of the public to participate in the selection of a preferred route corridor for the essential South to North Access Roa of the South East Greenway

In their ongoing effort to improve connectivity and accessibility, the council has developed six distinct route corridor options, all aimed at seamlessly connecting Abbey Road to Belmont Road. The selcted route will be important to the South East Greenway as it will most likely form a future access point and car park for the greenway

Tipperary County Council have made a decision to close part of the Suir Blueway to facitate emergecny repairs. The closure is in place from yesterday, Thursday the 23rd of September until Friday the 8th of October. 

Previous closures of the cycle track were weekdays only. On this occasion, the council would like to stress that this closure includes weekends. 

The section of the Suir Blueway to be closed is at Sir Thomas’s Bridge, (also known as two-mile-bridge) in Clonmel. 

It will not be possible to gain access to the Blueway from Sir Thomas’s Bridge heading downstream towards Kilsheelan.

It will however be possible to gain access to the Blueway from Sir Thomas’s Bridge heading upstream towards Clonmel.
