Boyne Greenway
Starting at Dominic’s Park on the southern bank of the River Boyne, near the Peace Bridge in Drogheda, the Boyne Greenway offers a scenic route along the river. The path takes you close to the Mary McAleese Cable Bridge and follows the Boyne Canal, leading to the historic Battle of the Boyne Visitor Centre at Oldbridge. Stretching approximately 4.5 km, this greenway provides beautiful riverside views for walkers and cyclists alike.
The route incorporates boardwalk sections, creating a seamless connection between Drogheda’s town centre and the Oldbridge Estate. Along the way, you’ll find interpretive heritage signs that share fascinating stories from Irish mythology, focusing on the Boyne Valley. Once at the Oldbridge Estate, visitors can explore several self-guided walking trails through the parklands at the Battle of the Boyne site.
